Yudu?

Has any heard about this "personal screen printer" called the Yudu? My first thought when I read about it was "oooh!! A new Gocco!" but this contraption looks more like a scanner and supposedly you can print on both textiles and paper with it... Unfortunately I can't swing the $300 price tag to test drive one right now, but I'm definitely intrigued...

Squam Art Workshops

We are soooo excited to be going to New Hampshire for the Squam Art Workshops in June! Derek and I were invited to teach a couple workshops at SAW and how could we resist? A four-day arts retreat on a lake? Yes, please! We will be there to teach an all-day workshop featuring projects from our upcoming book Wallpaper Projects, and another all about Nature Inspired DIY Design. It's not too late to register- it would be great to see you there!

The Curiosity Shoppe has received some lovely press in the last few days....

Handmade Nation Screening- next Wednesday!

We're so excited to finally see Faythe Levine's film Handmade Nation at the San Francisco screening next Wednesday, March 11th at Mezzanine. Derek will be speaking on a panel with Lisa Congdon, Natalie Zee Drieu and Stephanie Syjuco after the screening, and the Shoppe will have a little table set up where we'll be selling a selection of handmade goods from our favorite designers and makers both before and after the screening.

Come out to see a great film and say hello!

Making and cleaning

Been feeling all crafty recently and have been working on the following projects this past week:

Finally finished the sweater I started a year ago...


Made a tote out of some old silkscreened canvas I had.

Made the cornstalk rolls from last month's Gourmet

Got all OCD and took all the keys off our office computer keyboard and cleaned the entire thing!
