The Catcher in the Rye? or The Great Gatsby?

as an alternative to "the great gatsby", read the real story, "living well is the best revenge".

It's a timing thing for me...as an angsty youth...Catcher. As I got older...Gatsby...since I'm older now....still Gatsby.

I've been thinking about it all week and I still can't decide... my gut tells me to go with Catcher in the Rye, so I guess that's the one.

It's tough, both are very good books that fail to be great, and in my view overshadow better works by their respective authors.

That said, I'll go with Gatsby.
