I came across these images of the World's Largest Ball of Twine while I was searching around online just now, and they reminded me how much I love roadside attractions! We have a few ideas floating around for some spring and summer roadtrips, which include visits to state parks and definitely a few "world's largest" attractions. Can't wait!

Reminds me of a something Bill Geist would visit on Sunday Morning. He's goofy, but I usually like his segments on the show.
have you seen the world's largest artichoke in castroville? it's pretty amazing. http://bennington.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=33615995&id=919487&op=2&view=all&subj=69000037

hi, im katie, im delurking and leaving a comment for the first time.
kansas city public television has a great series called rare visions and roadside revelations if you are interested in roadside attractions like the largest ball of twine... it started out as these three guys exploring missouri and kansas for roadside oddities and outsider art and became something that they trek all over the country doing. the shows are really entertaining.

if you are taking a road trip in western kansas i would recomend the garden of eden in lucas, kansas... this guy just built this amazing concrete sculpture all over his house, and even built himself a masoleum.
hope this is helpful!
If you get anywhere close to Arizona, it is worth an extra drive to visit (and stay at) the Shady Dell in Bisbee!
