Summer in San Francisco is slightly unpredictable and generally chilly (though we do have our warm and sunny days every now and then) so we've been trying to get out of the city in search of sun every chance we get. We had a day off on Monday so we packed up the veg mobile and drove north over the Golden Gate Bridge, making stops at the Marin Headlands (where it was still foggy, but beautiful), the Marine Mammal Center (where we learned all about seals and whales), Heath Ceramics (where we ogled all the beautiful tableware) and the Marin Art and Garden Center, where we saw some local art and basked in the sun in their beautiful rose garden.
Last stop was San Anselmo, where we browsed some antique stores and sipped on iced coffee at an outdoor café. We looooove days off!! (More photos from our day here.)

Marin coast and Ross Valley are my old stomping grounds! Generations of one side of the family lived in Ross, Kentfield and San Anselmo. (some are still there!) I grew up at the beach. Went to College of Marin. Met my husband. Got married at the beach. Lived in San Anselmo. Had a baby. ....memories.
