Yudu?

Has any heard about this "personal screen printer" called the Yudu? My first thought when I read about it was "oooh!! A new Gocco!" but this contraption looks more like a scanner and supposedly you can print on both textiles and paper with it... Unfortunately I can't swing the $300 price tag to test drive one right now, but I'm definitely intrigued...

Squam Art Workshops

We are soooo excited to be going to New Hampshire for the Squam Art Workshops in June! Derek and I were invited to teach a couple workshops at SAW and how could we resist? A four-day arts retreat on a lake? Yes, please! We will be there to teach an all-day workshop featuring projects from our upcoming book Wallpaper Projects, and another all about Nature Inspired DIY Design. It's not too late to register- it would be great to see you there!

(decor8 posted a great interview with SAW founder Elizabeth MacCrellish last month that you can read here.)

Coolness

We recently stumbled upon two very simple, very stylish blogs that do a wonderful job at a difficult task...encapsulating "cool". Because, as we all know, what we find cool, others might find cold. And vice versa and so on and so forth...But hats off to The Impossible Cool and Nerd Boyfriend for hitting the nail on the head (as far as we're concerned...).

First, The Impossible Cool—cool people, cool pictures, and cool quotes from cool people...
Next, Nerd Boyfriend—cool people, cool clothes, and links to help you cool up your own wardrobe...

This is soooo up our alley

Gorgeously designed kits by Elizabeth Dilk. We want them for the shoppe! (via Craftzine)

A sewing kit for men.
(Includes sewing essentials and directions to replace a button, mend a tear and hem pants.)

A kit to thwart writer's block. Genius!

Lucky Us!!!

The Curiosity Shoppe has received some lovely press in the last few days....

First, the wonderful Victoria Smith (aka sfgirlbybay) mentioned us in an article in the San Francisco Chronicle as one of her favorite local shopping destinations. She's got such amazing taste, it's a real thrill to be on her list!!

Ms. sfgirlbybay herself, checking out our various curiosities...

As if that wasn't enough...the current issue of Lucky magazine features us (and some of our other small business buddies) in a great San Francisco shopping round up!

Many Thanks to Victoria, The Chronicle, and Lucky!!
